We are very happy to be holding an Open Day on Saturday 16th November between 10.30 am – 1 pm, where residents can find out more about the services we offer here at Nidderdale Plus. Refreshments will be available through the Open Day and we very much look forward to welcoming you here!

We are also using the occasion to hold the premiere screening of a series of digital films, using a variety of animation processes, that celebrate life in Nidderdale both now and in the past. These films were made here at Nidderdale Plus, using the services of a film animation professional, and residents across the generations made innovative films that showcase their own experiences of living in Nidderdale.

One of our volunteers Pat commented on the workshops that she participated in: “The children were amazing.  It was lovely to work with them and see how creative they were with their animation work.  Doing the filming took me out of my comfort zone, but I definitely learnt something new and was able to share with the young people information about the history of photography and how we used to take photographs using rolls of film and “winding film on”, which was completely new to them!”

The premiere will be attended by the Chair of North Yorkshire County Council, and the Mayors of both Harrogate and Pateley Bridge. After the event, the films will be available to watch on our website, so if you cannot make it on the day, please come back here to view the films—they really are inspirational!
