There has been a lot going on at Nidd Plus recently, hence the delay in posting blogs!
One of the main thing we have been doing is modernising our meeting room by introducing a 50 inch smart TV screen and bringing in some new tables to make the room more of a flexible meeting space–and also an excellent space to hold courses. Many thanks to the Harrogate Borough Council Local Fund for generously providing a capital grant to all us to make these improvements.
So we are pleased to be holding our first digital skills course in our re-vamped room in January. The courses are free for residents to attend and should help those who are maybe not confident using new technology, or would just like to extend and maximise the knowledge they already have.
The first course is being held on Wednesday 15th January from 10am – 3pm at Nidd Plus. It will cover a range of topics, including:
–Understanding the jargon
–Looking at a variety of popular apps
–Using an appropriate marketplace to research and download an app
–Managing your mobile apps
You need to bring your own mobile device–a phone or tablet. Booking is essential as places are limited, but if we fill up for this course, then we will plan more in the near future. Please call 01423 714953 to book a place.
