Northern Gas Networks Supporting Communities to Achieve Affordable Warmth & Safety Scheme
Nidd Plus has been successful in accessing funding to help people stay warm and safe in their homes this winter. We can offer advice over the phone or in person, and are attending the regular coffee mornings and other events across Nidderdale over the winter period to talk to local people about the scheme. Here are the services we can offer:
- Personalised energy advice
- Carbon Monoxide safety awareness advice (we also have CO detectors that we can give for free to qualifying households)
- Help to sign up to the Priority Services Register
- Support to access benefits eligibility checks
- Support to access debt advice
- Support to access fuel vouchers
- Support to access energy schemes and/or energy efficiency improvements
- Support to access other crisis support—food, clothing, etc

Citizens Advice
If residents have issues concerning the following areas: Debt, Housing costs, Employment, Benefits, Consumer issues, Immigration. Please get in touch with us via email admin@nidderdaleplus.org.uk or telephone 01423 714953, and we can set up a time for you to come in to talk to a Citizens Advice advisor via a video link.
MIND in Harrogate
Offering one to one appointments to provide mental health support and advice as well as information on mental health training and education. A Community Development Worker will be available at Nidd Plus on Tuesdays. Appointments are available between 10.00 and 12.00 and can be arranged directly contact 01423 503335 or email office@mindinharrogate.org.uk
Flexible packages of mental health awareness and education sessions, as well as formal Mental Health First Aid training, are also available to the Nidderdale community as part of Mind in Harrogate’s support for local businesses, organisations and schools.

MP Surgery
No surgeries are currently planned at Nidd Plus. However, if constituents need to book surgery appointments, look at this website for availability: www.juliansmith.org.uk/surgeries, and then either email julian.smith.mp@parliament.uk or call Julian Smith’s office on 020 7219 7145 to ask about availability. Julian Smith is still also undertaking Telephone Surgeries.
Pateley Bridge Parking Permit Sales
We sell Car Park Shoppers’ Permits on behalf of North Yorkshire Council. They cost £15.40 each and are for use with a parking disc. They entitle drivers to park for up to two hours in Southlands car park and Nidd Walk car park in Pateley Bridge. Please call in during our opening hours to purchase one (payment by card is preferred).
