One of our regular volunteers here at Nidd Plus has pointed out that it is likely that once we start to ease lockdown, we will all be advised to wear face coverings when out and about, while not impacting on professional medical supplies. The suggestion instead is that we make our own, and two layers of cotton are said to protect against 90% of airborne nasties.
If you are bored, crafty and have the necessary materials, you may wish to start making masks for yourself, family, friends and community members.
Below is a YouTube video showing you how to make them – no sewing machine required!
Sandra, our Community Hub Coordinator, has also created a pattern template, so that you can sew your own mask! Email us at: admin@nidderdaleplus.org.uk and we will send the pattern out to you so you can make your own.
