Leeds City Credit Union is a financial cooperative with 37,000 members that provides straightforward, affordable financial services, and can be particularly helpful for people on low incomes.
As a mutual there are no shareholders so it is owned by its members and always has the interests of the members at the heart of everything it does. The credit union prides itself on providing members with the most appropriate services based on their circumstances.
Anyone who lives or works in Leeds, Wakefield, Harrogate and Craven, residents of certain housing associations or who works for certain employers are applicable to join the credit union.
From 1 April credit union staff are no longer running regular drop-in sessions in the Harrogate District. However their services can still be accessed online http://www.leedscreditunion.co.uk/ and these will continue to be promoted in the district. The Harrogate Borough Council customer services team is able to provide support to applicants on an ongoing basis.
If you know someone who would be interested in being a volunteer for the credit union, please contact Natalie Ibbetson on nibbetson@leedscitycreditunion.co.uk . Natalie also remains the account manager for the Harrogate District.
