Preparations are now well under way for the Nidderdale Health & Wellbeing Fair this Saturday, and we have over 25 exhibitors in attendance!
Some of the exhibitors are kindly offering free taster sessions that will take place on the day in the side hall at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall, and we are offering an information session about Digital Switchover and how it may affect your landline. The full schedule of sessions is below. No need to book–just turn up!
We look forward to seeing you there. The event runs from 10am-1pm on Saturday 5th October.
10.30am. Nidd Plus: Digital Switchover Information Session
Digital Switchover is happening now in our area. This session explains what Digital Switchover means, how it may affect your phoneline (especially if you do not have broadband) and how Nidd Plus can help.
11am. Dancing for Well-Being: An introduction to Dancing for Well-Being Classes
Try a taster session to see how dancing can improve your wellbeing. You can dance sitting or standing and move at your level, you don’t need a partner and you don’t need a good memory either. The music will get your toes tapping and the dances are very accessible and great fun!
11.30am. MIND: No Mind Left Behind—Mental Health and Wellbeing Drop-in Session
The session will provide a peaceful space to have a conversation with one of our counsellors for a short wellbeing conversation. There will also be mindfulness activities including colouring and meditation.
12pm. Bloom Creative Wellbeing: Introduction to Creative Wellbeing Workshop
The session will provide a short overview of how to maintain and improve wellbeing through creativity and the arts, as well as an opportunity to try a fun creative activity.
12.30pm: Make it Wild: An introduction to Natural Mindfulness
Helen Neave is both medically qualified, and a qualified and experienced Natural Mindfulness Guide. It is scientifically recognised that focusing on nature brings many health benefits. We also know that mindfulness helps with physical and mental health. It helps us to feel calm, to face whatever life may throw at us. Mindfulness can also help relieve stress, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, and improve sleep, creativity and mood.
In Natural Mindfulness we bring these together. Helen will guide the group through some simple Natural Mindfulness moments. We will use our senses to bring ourselves to the present moment. This Taster Session is suitable for all. Those who are new to mindfulness, and the more experienced, can expect to leave feeling calmer and more connected to nature.
