It’s been a long time in the planning and implementation, but we are extremely pleased to announce that the Nidderdale Plus Community Fund is now live for applications!
As you may be aware, Nidd Plus set up Nidderdale Charity Shop on the High Street in Pateley Bridge in February 2022. The money we make from sales at the Charity Shop is used in 2 ways:
- To provide a grant fund each year—The Nidderdale Plus Community Fund–to which Nidderdale and Washburn Valley charities, groups and other not-for-profit organisations can apply to fund revenue activities and capital projects that are needed in their community.
- To help fund the charitable activities of Nidderdale Plus Community Hub, such as: Community Transport service; Meals on Wheels service; Minibus Days Out; Digital Champion service and our Befriending project.
For this round of funding from the Nidderdale Plus Community Fund, which is now open and closes on 23rd October 2023, there is £20,000 for local charities, groups and other not for profit groups to bid into for activities, schemes and projects that will directly benefit Nidderdale residents.
You can find out more about eligibility, criteria and how to apply by visiting this page of our website.
We would like to thank all the amazing volunteers at Nidderdale Charity Shop who have made the Fund possible. There is a team of over 20 volunteers who work shifts at the shop, making sure it is open 6 days per week–and on bank holidays (!)–to raise money for local charitable causes.
We would also like to thank the Board of Trustees for providing advice and support in how to organise delivery of the Fund, and make sure it is distributed in an efficient and fair way across Nidderdale and the Washburn Valley.
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO APPLY AND HOPE THAT WE CAN ALL SEE THE BENFIT THAT THE FUND CREATES IN OUR AREA OVER THE YEARS TO COME!
