It finally feels like things are returning to normal, with a further easing of measures happening on 19 July. To coincide with this great moment, we are re-starting many of our library activities.

Story-time for under-5s

We are holding our first Story-time for under-5s for over 17 months on Monday 19th July in our library here in Pateley Bridge! The first few sessions will see our main librarian, Claire Thompson, reading to children and weaving in poetry and songs. Young people, as well as the older generation, have missed out on so much social interaction, so we very much hope that families will be able to attend these sessions. They will be happening on Mondays fortnightly going forwards.

Please call us 01423 714953 or email us at admin@nidderdaleplus.org.uk to books a place or to find out more. We have to a bit careful at this moment about not having too many people attending, hence the need to book ahead.

Summer Reading Challenge

We are also very pleased that the Summer Reading Challenge is back this summer and that children are being encouraged to take out physical books from the library, rather than digital, on line versions!

You can head over to our community library page here to find out more about this year’s theme. But we have stickers, certificates and medals to hand out to all young people who read six books over the summer. If you are not a member of the library currently, joining is easy and takes little time and is FREE! Just head down to the hub to sign up your children.
