Care home residents, everyone aged 75 and over, and those aged 12 and over who are immunosuppressed will be eligible for the spring booster. For those who are eligible , you can go on the system and book now (see below for how to book), there is no need to wait to hear from your GP. The Yorkshire Health Network are encouraging people to book appointments so that they can better manage the demand.
For some immunosuppressed people this may be their fifth jab, as extra doses were given to those with certain health conditions. Adults will be offered either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, with those aged between 12 and 18 getting the Pfizer jab.
The NHS also continues to offer the vaccine for those who are yet to come forward for one, even if it is your first dose.
How to book your Spring Booster
Go on the NHS website at this link. We have been advised that there are appointments on 7 dates in April at the Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate: 1st, 3rd, 7th, 13th, 16th, 27th, 30th. It is also planned to run sessions in May at the Showground.
Pateley Bridge Pharmacy is also offering some dates in April. As soon as we know when these are, we will post them on our facebook page.
