There has been lots of activity over the past few weeks as we have been preparing to open the Nidderdale Charity Shop on the High Street in Pateley Bridge!
The shop is finally open and huge thanks go to the inspiring team of volunteers who approached us last September (as they were then volunteering for the Save the Children Charity Shop), to ask if we would consider opening a new charity shop on the High Street.
After some consideration, the trustees decided that we would go ahead with opening the shop, and negotiations started in earnest on securing the lease. The lease was finally signed on 1st January and since then it has been full on to get everything in place before opening.
The first day of opening was last Saturday, 19th February, but we did not want to shout about it, as we wanted to ensure that all systems were up and running before announcing that the shop was open for business to the wider community.
But we are shouting about it now (!) and encourage you to bring goods to the shop (phone: 07706 358902 first to see if the shop can accommodate more goods), and shop there!
All proceeds will help residents, charities and groups in Nidderdale and Washburn Valley, as we intend to put the majority of the proceeds into a pot that people can bid into annually, with the balance going to help our own charitable activities, such as the community car scheme and meals on wheels service.
PLEASE SUPPORT NIDDERDALE CHARITY SHOP!
We look forward to seeing you there.
