We are proud to be the only Census Support Service in Harrogate District and are already offering lots of help and support, as well as COVID-safe face-to-face appointments at our hub in Pateley Bridge, to help people fill in their form online.
The period that the Census runs from is 1st March-4th May, and Census Day itself is Sunday 21 March, when we will be specially open from 10am-1pm. We are here to answer any questions that people have about the census and can help people fill in their forms. This year, the plan is for most people to complete their census on line, and in line with this, people have been sent a letter with a unique code that enables them to go on line to fill in their form. The majority of people will be fine filling in the form—the Census Support Service we are running here is to help people who are having difficulties or are not on line.
People can book an appointment with us and come in and we will help you fill in your form on line, in a COVID-secure way. We can also answer any enquiries on the phone: 01423 714953, or email admin@nidderdaleplus.org.uk.
Two members of staff here—Sandra and Heather– have trained up as Census Support Advisers and we have IT equipment that is dedicated for people to use to fill in their forms. We are happy to transport people here in Pateley from their homes (in Nidderdale or the Washburn Valley) if they do not have access to transport so that they can fill in forms on line.
We will be able to offer some appointments one evening per week and are open on Saturday from 10am-1pm, so that, even if people are at work during the day, they can still come in to fill in the form.
Our library computers can also be booked so that you can fill in your own Census form here if you are computer-literate but do not have computer access at home. Please just call us on 01423 714953.
As you may be aware, filling in a census form is a legal requirement—every household has to fill one in—and there is a fine if you do not complete the Census form. Please call us if you have any queries at all about Census 2021.
