Well, we all hoped that Christmas this year would be more positive, with more Christmas parties and get-togethers with loved ones. But with Omicron on the surge, sadly this has not been possible. However, we can and should make the most of the festive season. It brings light and hope into the darkest part of the year, and all the wonderful displays of lights around the dale can give us good heart and a bit of cheer!
Thanks to all our partners and customers this year, who have made this year so positive for Nidd Plus, despite the conditions we have been dealing with. The number of volunteers and volunteer hours that people have put into their communities through their work with Nidd Plus has been staggering. So a massive shout-out and thanks to all our volunteers–you are all stars and your dedication and commitment to helping others is very inspiring. You all deserve a peaceful and restful Christmas.
2022 looks very interesting and exciting for Nidd Plus. We have taken the lease on the charity shop on the High Street in Pateley and intend to open it in February for the benefit of all the charities and small groups who work to help Nidderdale residents. Keep watching this space for more on this! We also take delivery of our new minibus in March and are planning to make it available for group hire in Nidderdale, as well as to plan days out for people who do not get many chances to visit interesting places and who have fewer opportunities to socialise, owing to having no transport of their own or having mobility issues.
So we look forward to working with you or helping you in 2022, and very much hope it will be the year when we can put the challenges of COVID behind us and get on with our normal lives! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
