Grants for Small Businesses: Applications are Now Live

If you are a small business owner and currently have exemption from paying business rates, you may well be eligible for a £10k grant payable from Government to help with income loss during the crisis. This includes people who run holiday rental cottages and many other small businesses. Applications are made using Harrogate Borough Council’s online Business Information Form.

It only takes 5 minutes to fill in the on line form, so we encourage all small business owners who are exempt from business rates to apply now.

There are two types of grant available:

  • Small business grant funding of £10,000 for businesses receiving (or eligible to receive) small business rate relief or rural rate relief.
  • Retail, leisure and hospitality grant funding of up to £25,000 for businesses receiving (or eligible to receive) retail relief.

You can apply for a grant if you are responsible for business rates at a property and your business has been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19). The criteria for these grants mean that businesses can only qualify for one, not both.
Submitted forms will receive an acknowledgement, and HBC will contact you with a decision or if any further details are required.
